The Understanding Faces Board Game
- Great game designed to help children learn to read facial expressions
- Especially useful for children with Asperger's Syndrome
- Uses cards that feature real children showing different facial expressions, and requires players to match situation cards to facial expression cards
- Ages 6-12
Here's a great way to help children learn to "read" and understand facial expressions.
Particularly useful with youngsters who have Asperger's Syndrome, this simple yet effective game helps any child develop fundamental social skills.
It includes Situation Cards, which describe various emotion-soliciting scenarios, and Face Cards, which show children with different facial expressions.
Taking turns, players draw a card from the Situation Deck and then try to find the corresponding Face Card. As they match feelings and facial expressions, players move along a colorful game board path that prompts them to make some faces of their own. When a child lands on a "feelings prompt," he or she must convey the emotion named using facial expressions only.
With practice, children begin to understand the link between facial expressions and feelings.
Includes game board, 50 Face cards, 48 Situation cards, 2 dice, pawns, 100 chips, 2 write-on/wipe-off slates, & instructions.
For up to 6 players.
